For starters the word ‘July’ was named by the Roman Senate in honour of the Roman general, Julius Caesar, simply because July was the month of his birth.

Babies born between July 1st and July 22nd are members of the Cancer zodiac sign. A person born under Cancer can be identified by their emotional and intimate nature. Cancerians are said to take pleasure in the simple comforts of home and family. They are also very maternal, and they thrive on nurturing those around them. Those born after July 22nd to July 31st, are part of the Leo zodiac sign. The Leo is one of the zodiac's most natural leaders, which may explain their desire to be the centre of attention. Ruby is the main birthstone for those born in July, the stone known as the king of precious gems. The ruby is a symbol of passion and energy and is said to bring love and success.
