Survive the school holidays with these experiences
Wait, what? It’s school holidays again? Feels like they only just went back to school! Not to worry, because we’ve got your ultimate Spring school holidays survival guide right here.
And the best part is, all our school holiday activity picks will occupy your kids for hours on end. So you can sit back with that well-deserved glass of vino (no? Just us?) and let your kids unleash their energy in a safe and fun environment.
It takes a village
Before we launch into our favourite school holiday activities, it can be a good idea to do a little planning. With only two weeks to worry about, you could devise a roster with other parents and take it in turns ferrying the kids to different activities – or divide hosting duties for chill out days at home.
And if the grandparents are up for it, they could also take the kids out for a day or two. The school holidays can be a special time for creating special memories between grandparents and grandchildren. Plus, it'll give you a little break (hello, hair salon)!
Take to the trees
Climbing trees never gets old. So why not take the kids on a climbing adventure in the bush? Many are perfectly suited to younger kids, while others have more advanced challenges for pre-teens and above.
Kids learn about climbing techniques, and are fully trained on how to safely navigate the course and use the equipment. Then they’re let loose to make their way through the course. It’s great for building their confidence - and is sure to get them all tuckered out for the car ride home!
An indoor climbing centre is another awesome activity for the school holidays (especially if the weather’s a bit iffy). From climbing classes to one-day passes, there are plenty of options to keep your kids entertained. And if your little one has a fear of heights, they’ll have the chance to test their limits and gain confidence in a safe and supportive space.
Whether you hop on a plane (if you don't live in Melbourne) to Legoland, or head to TreeTops, our adventures will keep the kids occupied all day long. From a visit to SEA LIFE Aquarium to jet boat rides, horse riding, escape rooms and anything else you can dream up, there's an adventure activity to please - whatever their wishes and interests.
And for a multi-day adventure, you can send them off to drama camps, sports camps (like rugby camps with the Wallabies), magic camps, and even animation and coding camps. They might never want to come home!
