Endless School Holiday Entertainment!

Published: 05th April 2018

If you feel like you've exhausted all your great ideas for keeping the kids entertained in the holidays, there's no better solution than relying on an annual pass for easy entry into a place your child never tires of.

What better way to spend a day (or several) than at a wildlife park, zoo or an aquarium, where the educational benefits are always so valuable and kids of all ages are thoroughly entertained. An annual pass solves that dreaded 'I'm bored' phrase and provides entertainment for each school holiday break throughout the year.

Our favourite annual passes are for attractions that are always packed full of value and discounts, working out much cheaper than if you paid per visit!

These are our most favourite annual passes:

Legoland Discovery Centre Annual Pass

This is the ultimate indoor LEGO playground. Every kid who is obsessed with Lego (my boys are) needs to experience LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Melbourne with more than 2 million bricks, 2 rides, 10 LEGO build and play zones, a 4D cinema & much more! Kids will be overjoyed with the never-ending entertainment!

The experience starts with the LEGO Factory Tour, where the story of how the iconic bricks are made is told. From there, be sure to check out the Kingdom Quest Laser Ride, with a mission to save the princess and earn points on this knight themed ride. And of course, you always have the opportunity to build your own vehicles and test their speed on the ramps!

Legoland is so much fun and will definitely entertain the kids during the school holidays. We know they will be begging to go back!

Featherdale Wildlife Park Annual Pass

If your kids are big animal lovers (and we're guessing that most kids are crazy about a variety of creatures!) then you can enjoy a year of unlimited entry to Featherdale Wildlife Park for less than the cost of TWO visits. It's great value because you also get 20% off admission for a friend and 20% off café, souvenir centre and Animal Encounters. Featherdale is home to over 1,700 Australian animals with the largest collection of koalas in NSW, three open enclosures with kangaroos and wallabies as well as dingos, echidnas, wombats, bilbies, Tasmanian devils, reptiles and a great collection of birds from around the world.

The saving makes it the perfect pass to provide endless school holiday entertainment.

Merlin Attractions Annual Pass

An annual Merlin pass brings together all Merlin's fabulous attractions, guaranteed to suit kids of all ages, catering to a range of interests.

In NSW the Merlin pass gives you annual entry to Sydney Aquarium, Madame Tussauds, Sydney zoo, Sydney Tower Eye and the Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures.

In Victoria, your Merlin pass covers the Melbourne Aquarium, Legoland at the Discovery Centre and the Otway Fly Treetop Adventures.

For Queenslanders, your Merlin pass gives you annual entry to Underwater World at Sea Life in Mooloolaba and Wild Life at Hamilton Island

For New Zealander's, there's Kelly Tarlton's fabulous Sea Life Aquarium in Auckland.

The Merlin pass also includes a 'privilege pack' with a variety of goodies and discounts, plus 10% discounts in gift shops, 20% discounts for food and drinks and 20% off birthday parties. You also get 20% off most tours and $10 off Magic Memories photo packs.

The Merlin annual pass is our absolute favourite, it's 11 attractions in 1, this is a huge saving! And if you go on holiday you have your entertainment sorted before you even arrive! The savings are exceptional, it's the ultimate school holiday entertainment package!

Sea Life Aquarium Annual Pass

If your kids can't get enough of the underwater world, families in Melbourne should be looking at the annual pass to Sea Life Aquarium. This incredible place takes you on an awe-inspiring journey through 12 zones of discovery. Home to the world's largest collection of seahorses and sea dragons, it also features the world’s only display of Elephant Sharks.

Kids can enjoy an interactive adventure from the depths of the ocean to the icy waters of Antarctica. They'll also love the 2.2 million litre Mermaid Garden where kids will love being surrounded by an underwater paradise as huge stingrays, turtles, massive sharks and thousands of multi-coloured fish swim by.

Sea Life Aquarium is always a captivating and entertaining place for kids of all ages, you can't go wrong with a Sea Life annual pass!

Sky Challenge Annual Pass

If you're in SA you will no doubt know how awesome this place is! This is perfect for the adventurous kids that love climbing.

The Sky Challenge annual pass gives you unlimited sessions to explore over 65 unique challenges on the entire SkyMate structure, climbing, zipping and jumping your way through the obstacles.

This is not for the faint-hearted - The free fall simulator, ParaJump, is mounted at 18m above the ground, where you can leap off and feel the thrill of free falling, now that is entertainment!

If free falling is not your thing, SkyWalk also offers the opportunity to climb and access the viewing platform at over 20m high, the views are spectacular!

You can opt to challenge yourself or take it easy, the choice is yours and with the trained staff on hand you will be guided and helped along the way.

Sky Challenge is an awesome day of adventure so to have a pass on hand all year is an absolute problem solver for entertaining the kids during the school holidays.

We know school holidays can be a tricky time of year with all the juggling but with an annual pass on hand, it really can help provide entertainment all year round. All in all, you’ll never regret getting yourself an annual pass, it really is a huge problem solver for those days when your kids are asking you that never-ending question, ‘What are we doing today?”.

Have fun exploring! We know you will!
